Continuing his warm-up events for the GC Am Reichswald Club Championship and the GERMAN OPEN in early September, Keanu put in another under-par performance to take the Generation Cup at Golf Club Ebersberg - www.gc-ebersberg.de .
Although he had not played the Ebersberg course, the Reichswald gunner attacked the greens from the outset.
Birdie, par, birdie on 1, 2 and 3 had him 2-under par after three holes. But Keanu gave back a stroke on the par 3 hole #4, pushing his tee-shot right of the green-side bunker. With little to land on between the bunker and the flag, his 2nd rolled 12 feet beyond the flag. 2 putts followed for the first bogey of the day.
Pars followed all the way up to 9, when Keanu drilled a 20 footer for another birdie and 2-under par.
On the back-nine, the Reichswald gunner offset a bogey on 11 with birdies on 13 and 14, bringing him to 3-under par.
On hole 17, Keanu's tee-shot went inches wide on the right and out-of-bounds, but the hotshot banged his third center fairway and his fourth GIR to within 22 feet below the flag. The youngster then drilled the putt for an excellent bogey and tallied his score-card at 2-under 70 after another par on 18.
Seems Keanu is ready to give his Bundesliga team-mates a good run for their money in his quest to become 2011 GC Am Reichswald Champion.
